For the first time in upwards of fifteen years, the four of us are going to take a vacation together. We’ve been in the same city in the same time in the intervening years, but it’s always involved some sort of holiday, or family gathering or us living in the same city. We all like each other, we’re just all really busy. And during the past few months, I think we’ve realized that as we get older, all of us, it’s important to take time to spend with each other.
So, in a few short hours, I’m off to Manhattan, where I’ll meet up with A and A and then tomorrow morning we’re off to the C
atskills.
Now I know the phrase the Catskills brings up the Borscht Belt and Dirty Dancing, but alas, on this trip, I won’t be finding my own Patrick Swayze.
We’re headed to the Inn at Lake Joseph, a small inn on private lake with miles of hiking trails, kayaks, and a fire pit.
Very much looking forward to a much needed break.
